Former Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has made it clear what he and Lionel Messi told Neymar before transferring his world record to Paris Saint-Germain.
Suarez believes the 31-year-old Brazilian winger could win the Ballon d'Or if he stays at Barcelona.
The 36-year-old Uruguay striker, who left Barcelona in 2020, added that he and Messi had both told Neymar he could win anything with the Spanish club.
Suarez told Brazilian magazine Placar:
"For us Messi is the best player in the world and for me Neymar is the second best player but they helped me win the Golden Boot. I will always be grateful to them. It is further proof that three stars together can play in the same team in order to win for a non-team. No individual. And I think that's what makes us better and better teammates.
If Neymar were in Barcelona, he would definitely win the Ballon d’Or. "I really do not like to talk about it, but there was a time when it was a big deal, so we went to talk to Neymar and said, 'Ney, if you want to win everything, stay with us.'
We said: "Neymar England is better. Manchester City, for example. Football would be better there. But why go to France? ”
