The 2006 FIFA World Cup is the 18th World Cup to be held from June 9 to July 9, 2006 in Germany, the right to host in July 2000 .

198 national teams from six continents participated in the qualifiers, which began in September 2003. 31 teams advance to the finals along with the German hosts.

Final match

The final was a match between Italy and France, with Zinedine Zidane opening the scoring with a controversial penalty. Controversy in the 7th minute.
